Oliver T. Carr, Jr., Chairman
Oliver T. Carr, Jr. oversees strategic planning and operation of the Company. As the Founder of The Oliver Carr Company (1962) and CarrAmerica (1993), Mr. Carr has developed over 11 million square feet of office, retail, residential and hotel properties in the Washington, DC region and managed 26.3 million square feet of commercial space in 12 markets across the country. An inductee of the Washington Business Hall of Fame, Mr. Carr is also Chairman Emeritus of George Washington University’s Board of Trustees, former Director of the Greater Washington Board of Trade and a former Trustee of the Federal City Council. In addition to Carr Hospitality and Carr City Centers, Mr. Carr is Founder and Chairman of Carr Workplaces, a national workplace solutions company, and Rising Stars, 501(c) (3) Private Foundation dedicated to the support of organizations which help “at-risk” children succeed in their education and their community.


Austin Flajser, President
Austin Flajser is in charge of day-to-day operations of The Carr Companies with over 40 executive suite, hotel, commercial and retail assets under management in 8 markets across the country but focused in the Washington, DC area. These assets account for over $180M in annual operating revenue and over $200M of new projects currently in the development pipeline. Since joining the Carr organization at Carr Enterprises in 2004, Mr. Flajser has overseen over a million square feet of development projects. Mr. Flajser received his Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University, his Masters in Real Estate from Georgetown University and his Certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management from Cornell University.


Larry Schombert leads Asset Management over all assets under Carr Hospitality management. Mr. Schombert has over 18 years of experience in the hospitality sector, nine of which involved direct financial oversight of hotel operations for Marriott. Larry brings a diverse background in a range of business areas including asset and project management, financial and operations analysis, budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning. Mr. Schombert earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland, is a Certified Public Accountant and a Project Management Professional. 


Michael Wilson is responsible for planning and project management, including scheduling, budget development, cost oversight, contract negotiation and construction management.  Mr. Wilson provides experience in both contracting and development management for new construction and major renovations across multiple market sectors, including more than $220 Million in current active development.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia, and currently resides in Arlington, Virginia.


Matthew J. Troy IV is responsible for business development with oversight of acquisitions and development projects. Prior to joining Carr City Centers, Mr. Troy was the Director of Real Estate for the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development in Washington, D.C. During his time there, Mr. Troy was responsible for the management of the office's real estate team and its $13 billion portfolio of active development projects. Matthew received his B.S.B.A. in Finance from the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond.


Matthew Buhts is responsible for financing acquisitions and development projects. Prior to Carr City Centers, Mr. Buhts was the Director of Acquisitions for Clark Enterprises, Inc. (CEI), where he sourced and structured joint venture equity investments for ground-up development projects consisting of multi-family, office and hotel (stabilized value of approximately $900 million). In addition to equity investments, Mr. Buhts oversaw all debt financing for real estate portfolio with a gross value in excess of $2.7 billion. Prior to CEI, Matthew was an Assistant Vice President for iStar Financial and began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Harvard University with a concentration in Economics and a Masters Degree from the University of Southern California.


Rodney Lim, Director of Finance & Accounting
Rodney Lim oversees all financial aspects of Carr Hospitality’s hotel and restaurant portfolio.  Mr. Lim manages all operating and capital budgets, monitors hotel capital and development projects financial reporting, in addition to leading external audits, partnership tax preparation and cost segregation analysis.  Prior to joining Carr Hospitality, Mr. Lim worked as Controller for Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. of Guam.  Mr. Lim has a BSBA in Accounting, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
